Flute

The flute is considered a woodwind instrument. The flute is one of the oldest instruments dating back to approximately 900 B.C. Historically, flutes have been made of materials including bone, wood, silver, gold, and platinum, to name a few. Today the instrument is made of a combination of silver or gold metal and wood. Flutes are commonly used as a solo instrument, as well as part of a symphony orchestra. If a student is preparing to enter middle school and wants to learn the flute, our instructor will prepare them for the entrance audition and future FISD or PISD band requirements.
