All new students are required to pay the $40 enrollment fee. This ensures your child’s place in our school as well as adding the information in our system to create the platform for scheduling, invoices and attendance logs. Openings are subject to teacher’s and student’s availability. The school will contact each family to schedule lessons after the completion of the registration form. After we set up a regular weekly schedule, you will be able to contact your teacher to reschedule lessons and/or changing lesson times. Billing At Edelweiss we want our families to have the flexibility to choose when to start and when to stop lessons. We do not have a contract. However, if you need to stop classes, we require a 30 days written notice. In the email we ask that you state the reason why you want to stop lessons. If you fail to give us proper notice, we reserve the right to charge your card for the remainder of the classes. This is to give our teacher time and flexibility to fill the spot with a new student. Tuition Policies – Edelweiss School of Music bills once a month at the beginning of each month. Lessons must be paid in advance. We give families a window of 7 days to pay their balance from the time when they receive their invoice. For every late week, we will add a $20 penalty fee onto your account. If however, we have not received a payment on the 20th of any given month, Edelweiss School of Music will automatically charge the card saved on file. NOTE: All families who enrolled after November 1st, 2020 are automatically enrolled in monthly auto-pay. ESOM will use the card on file, which was authorized to pay the enrollment fee. If a family needs to change the card, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org Methods of Payment We accept all forms of payment including check, cash or Zelle transfer. To use Zelle, please log into your bank account, select ‘Zelle’ or ‘Quick Pay’ tab. Enter the recipient as: email@example.com Name: Edelweiss School of Music Discounts We offer discounts a 2% discount for one semester or 5% for two semesters. Referral Program – We want to thank our families who recommend us to their friends and neighbors. If you refer a friend to us and they take classes for at least one month, we will gift your child one free class per referral. Absence Policy – We require a 24 hours notice to reschedule classes. Our system sends automated reminders to every student 24 hours before the assigned time. If you know you will miss your class, please email the school at firstname.lastname@example.org or your teacher that you will miss. With proper notice, we will be happy to reschedule your class. If you fail to communicate with us your absence, we will not make up the class. In lieu, your child will attend a group makeup workshop available at the end of each semester. The dates are not available until 2-3 weeks before the workshops. The administration keeps track of all the absences and gathers a list of all the students who need to attend the workshop. An email will be sent to those designated parents/students with a link to sign up for the workshops. Teacher’s absences/Substitutes – Most of our teachers are active performers and have families. This means, sometimes they have concerts or have an important family matter to attend, in which case the teacher will reschedule the class. In some instances, we reserve the right to find a substitute teacher, when your regular teacher does not have availability for an alternative day. Especially in cases when a teacher is sick, on maternity leave or needs extensive medical attention, Edelweiss SOM provides the students with a qualified substitute teacher for a brief period of time, until your regular teacher returns. Other Fees – Festival, Theory Tests and Competitions require a separate charge mandated by the organization hosting the event. We will always inform you of the fees when we email sign up forms to avoid surprises on your invoice.
