Cello
Daniela’s journey with the cello began at the Batuta National Foundation in Bogota Colombia, where she initiated her studies with the instrument. Under the guidance of Principal Director Maria Del Rosario, she honed her skills while playing with the Batuta
Bogota Orchestra. Subsequently, Daniela enrolled in the Music Basic Program at the National University of Colombia, where she encountered the mentorship of Cecilia Palma. With Palma’s guidance, Daniela gained access to the university’s Conservatory undergraduate program, earning a scholarship for her entire five-year tenure getting a honors certification.
In 2017, Daniela seized the opportunity to participate in the master classes offered by the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra, where she had the privilege of learning from Leonard Elschenbroich. That same year, she was invited to the International Music Festival of Emeralda in Ecuador, where she further refined her cello skills under the tutelage of renowned instructors such as Astrid Schween from the Julliard String Quartet and Francisco Vila.
Daniela’s dedication to her craft is evident in her pursuit of knowledge through master classes with esteemed cellists like Santiago Cañon, Florian Kitt, and Diego Garcia. She has also showcased her talents at different chamber music festivals, including Avila (Spain) and Bendada (Portugal)International Music Festivals. Also she performed with the Beethoven Trio, recipients of the prestigious “Bogota Philharmonic to the Neighborhood” award.
Her orchestral experience is extensive, having performed with esteemed ensembles such as the Youth Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogota, the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of Colombia, and the National Symphonic Orchestra of the Conservatory of the National University of Colombia. In 2021, Daniela’s skill and dedication were recognized when she clinched the 3rd place at the King’s Peak International Competition (USA). Actually she plays in different orchestras around the DFW area such as Colinas Symphony, McKinney Philarmonic, San Angelo Symphony and others.
Presently, Daniela is furthering her expertise in performance and chamber music at Texas Christian University as candidate for Artist Diploma Major under the guidance of uliette Herlin.
