ROMAN FEDAK

Violin

Born and raised in Dallas, Roman F. is a pianist and violinist with years of experience teaching students of all ages and on both instruments. A graduate of SMU, Roman earned his B.A. in Music and B.A. in Philosophy. At SMU, Roman studied with many prominent Dallas Symphony Orchestra musicians, and was awarded the Assistant Concertmaster seat in the Meadows Symphony Orchestra.

Roman is familiar with the Suzuki Method as a guide to teaching music, as well as other modern book series. He loves exploring all styles of music with his students. Though Roman really enjoys working with beginners and early learners, he is no stranger to the repertoire and techniques that are required to excel at the professional level. Roman has performed demanding solo works such as the Allemande from Eugene Ysaye’s Sonata no. 4 and orchestral works like Shostakovich’s Symphony no. 15. His teaching style is one that can be described as patient, understanding, and easygoing, while remaining firm in the goals and high expectations he sets.

When Roman’s not practicing, you’ll find him at the local rock-climbing gym, settled at home with a good book, or at his computer playing and creating video games.
